Many anecdotes and exciting stories took place during the event. Everyone present at the finish line experienced a magical moment when Juan Carlos Martínez, one of the participants in the marathon, created a precious moment. After running 42,195 metres and being proclaimed finisher of the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon, the first thing he did was to go to his partner, Rocío Alcocer, get down on one knee and ask her to marry him. Rocío, visibly moved, didn’t think twice and…. She said yes! Hundreds of people present there began to applaud and did not hesitate to congratulate the couple, who were the architects of a very special moment, thus leaving their mark on the celebration of the sixth edition of the Ibiza event.

We were also able to count on the presence of a large number of international influencers from the world of running who promoted the race to nearly one million followers as the ideal way to round off a weekend of sport.

Among them were Massimiliano Andrea Milani, who crossed the finish line in third place in the marathon, and Elisa Melilli, a running influencer with a large community of followers on her networks, who took second place in the absolute women’s category of the 22K. Also participating in the 12K were Paula and Patri from ‘Juntas Es Mejor’, Erica Sánchez from ‘Corro Y Soy Mujer’ and Miriam García from ‘Go Miriam’, who were part of the #MujeresRunnersIbiza campaign and who conquered the race with their training group made up of women who were eager to live the #RunAndFeel experience.

In the marathon we could also see Sergio Turull, known as ‘Pitufollow’, making a great time (02:52:24), who was also making his more than 163 thousand followers participate in his great feat by achieving a well-deserved 7th position. Cosimo Bertotto (‘Cosimo Run’) was another of the influencers who took part in the magical island’s race par excellence, and was very happy after completing this demanding distance.

Olympic swimmer Mireia Belmonte
Mireia Belmonte, olympic swimmer and the first Spanish swimmer to win a medal, did not want to miss this great running festival in Ibiza and took on the Santa Eulària Ibiza 12K with a good time (01:06:05).

Álex Roca fills the sixth edition of the Ibiza race with magic
The athlete Álex Roca, the first person in the world with a 76% disability to complete a marathon, took part in the 12K and flooded the streets of Ibiza with magic and excitement with every stride. All the people who came out to cheer on the runners taking part in the three distances (marathon, 22K and 12K) were especially supportive of this great athlete who has more than demonstrated his philosophy of life: “You set the limit”. Seeing him cross the finish line with his wife Mª Carme was one of the most incredible moments of this edition.
