The Santa Eulària Ibiza Kids Run CaixaBank returns on April 13. Everything is ready for the opening of registration, which will take place this Wednesday, March 6, at 12:00 p.m. on the official website: www.ibizamarathon.com.
With free registration, the non-competitive sporting event is available for runners aged 2 to 14 years old.
A sporting event for everyone
The Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon is celebrating its 7th anniversary, and it is doing so true to its philosophy: to promote sports among runners of all ages. That’s why, in addition to a programme of competitions over three distances (marathon, 22K and 12K), the event includes the Santa Eulària Ibiza Kids Run CaixaBank.
The race, which already brought together nearly 600 children in the 2023 edition, will take place on the 13th of April at 10:00 am in the surroundings of the Marina Santa Eulària with distances organised according to categories:
AGE | CATEGORY | DISTANCE |
Born in 2020/2021/2022 | Baby | 250 metres |
Born in 2017/2018/2019 | Sub 8 | 500 metres |
Born in 2015/2016 | Sub 10 | 500 metres |
Born in 2013/2014 | Sub 12 | 1.000 metres |
Born in 2011/2012 | Sub 14 | 1.500 metres |
Hundreds of children, thanks to the collaboration of the bank CaixaBank, will be introduced to the world of running and will enjoy a fun day while feeling the magical island beneath their feet. In addition, all participants will receive a finisher’s medal and will have access to refreshments after crossing the finish line.
With this initiative, the organisers of the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon seek to promote healthy living and the culture of effort in running from an early age, as well as to instil values such as companionship and self-improvement.
Solidarity race with APNEEF
The Santa Eulària Ibiza Kids Run CaixaBank also has a social aspect. Like every year, the event includes a solidarity race in collaboration with APNEEF (Asociación de Personas con Necesidades Especiales de Eivissa y Formentera), the official charity of the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon.
The children and teenagers belonging to the NGO will run the first metres of the most important sporting event on the magical island and will also be awarded a finisher’s medal.
For the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon team, it is a pleasure to be able to collaborate with this organisation in order to support the inclusion of people with special needs on the island. In addition, all registered runners have the opportunity to do their bit by donating 2€ at the time of registration.
