The Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon is an event designed by and for sports lovers. An experience aimed at runners of all kinds and conditions that aims to promote sport and healthy lifestyle habits.
In line with this philosophy, this morning, starting at 10:00 am, the Santa Eulària Ibiza Kids Run CaixaBank brought together 600 children between the ages of 2 and 14 who felt part of this great sporting event, running different distances by age and feeling the magical island beneath their feet, thanks to the collaboration of the bank CaixaBank.

The mayoress of Santa Eulària des Riu, Carmen Ferrer; the director of CaixaBank’s Ibiza and Formentera Business Area, Gaëlle Le Dour; the director of CaixaBank’s Ibiza and Formentera Business Area, Marta Guitián; the deputy mayor of the Santa Eulària des Riu Town Hall, Miguel Tur; the Councillor of Sports, Youth, Economy and Finance of the Consell de Ibiza, Salvador Losa; and the general director of the project, Francisco Larrey, welcomed hundreds of children with a lot of #RunAndFeel spirit who crossed the finish line of the Santa Eulària Ibiza Kids Run CaixaBank with the dream of one day being able to run the island’s sporting event par excellence.

A non-competitive race
With free registration, the Santa Eulària Ibiza Kids Run CaixaBank is a non-competitive event that, year after year, fills the quota of places available.

In the words of the organisers, this initiative “reflects our commitment to making sport accessible to everyone and to instilling the values of sport among children so that they become part of their adult lives”. This is reflected in details such as the fact that all athletes wear a number 1 bib or that they all receive a medal after crossing the finish line.

Solidarity race with APNEEF
Just before the start of the Santa Eulària Ibiza Kids Run CaixaBank, the traditional charity race was held in collaboration with APNEEF (Association of People with Special Needs of Ibiza and Formentera), the official charity of the Ibiza event.

This event inaugurated the sports day and was attended once again this year by the sportsman Álex Roca, who gave his message and support to all those present.

From 9:30 a.m. onwards, children and teenagers of different ages belonging to this association symbolically ran 300 metres and received the finisher’s medal from the Mayoress of Santa Eulària, Carmen Ferrer; the godmother of APNEEF, Alba Pau; the athlete Álex Roca; and the general director of the event, Francisco Larrey.

Likewise, all those registered for the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon 2024 have been able to collaborate with the organisation with a solidarity contribution during the registration process, which is added to the economic contribution donated by the organisation to help the initiatives carried out by APNEEF.
