The Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon has opened the doors of its Runner’s Fair at the Palacio de Congresos de Ibiza in Santa Eulària, where the mayoress of Santa Eulària des Riu, Carmen Ferrer, was in charge of cutting the official ribbon together with Francisco Larrey, director of the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon, thus inaugurating the sports expo of the sixth edition of the event.

The official visit was attended by the island director of Sports of the Consell de Ibiza, Javier Bonet; the island director of Tourism of the Consell de Ibiza, Juan Miguel Costa; the deputy mayor of the Santa Eulària des Riu Town Hall, Miguel Tur; and the director of the Palacio de Congresos de Ibiza, Fina Riera.

In this way, Miguel Tur officially handed over bib number one to the favourite William Cheboi to beat the record in the main event, the marathon, and bib number 1000 to the olympic athlete Dani Mateo, the official ambassador of the sporting event. Francisco Larrey gave the number two bib to Kripop Lagat and, for her part, the mayoress Carmen Ferrer gave the number four bib to the elite female athlete Mónica Cheruto, as well as the 3001 to Fedra Aldana Luna. Javi Bonet was in charge of handing over the bib number 1001 to the chilean Carlos Martín. Juan Miguel Costa finished the bib number 3000 for Adrián Guirado.

During the tour, the retinue was able to visit the stand of the technical brand Joma, where the new edition of the official race shoes, which have already become the reference for runners visiting the most important sporting event on the island, is on display. In the same way, the stands of the rest of the collaborating brands were inaugurated. Institutions, sponsors and visitors were able to visit the stand of the official hotels Aguas de Ibiza and Invisa Hoteles.

All those registered for the three distances of the sporting event (marathon, 22K and 12K) can go to the fair to pick up their race bibs from Friday the 31st of March, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. non-stop, and on Saturday the 1st of April, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. Likewise, the organisers have set up a collection point at the start of the marathon and 22K, as well as at the entrance to the fair in the case of the 12K, for those runners who have not been able to collect their bibs during the fair’s opening hours.

An international finish line

The growth of the international census is a reality, exceeding 55% in this year’s edition. Runners of more than 30 nationalities, who have been attracted by this great sporting event on the magical island, will pass through the Runner’s Fair to pick up their respective bibs. As a result, the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon is on its way to becoming an unmissable event for running lovers from all over the world.
