Last Wednesday, the Ibiza Marathon and Ibiza 12K, which will take place on Saturday the 7th of April, exceeded 1,600 registered runners in the 42,195 metre race as well as the 12 kilometre one. With this figure, they are about to become the largest sports event of the Balearic Islands with high participation of runners from all over Spain and from 21 countries which have already been confirmed.

Only 50 days away from both races, the event organized by Talentum Group is about to surpass the number of runners that registered for the first edition, which was around 2.000 participants with hundreds of them coming from different corners of the world to get to know and enjoy the #RunAndFeel experience.

Having more runners that in the last edition is a very good sign for the race, especially in a year in which all major races in Spain have reduced their participation. Data show that the race is growing at a vibrant pace thanks to international participation, which is currently above 45% of the registered runners. In addition, it is known that many runners choose to participate at the last minute. However, we encourage them to register as soon as possible to get the best prices and secure their race number in case they sell out”, says Francisco Larrey, the race director.

Larrey has also stated that the Ibiza Marathon has to keep growing to become one of the large marathons in Spain and the world, and it should make the most of the fact that it takes place in such a fantastic location to increase participation levels: “The #RunAndFeel experience is something unique in the world and we invite runners from Ibiza, all regions in Spain and all countries in the world to discover the island running.” By offering a great spring break plan in April, the race organization wishes to deseasonalize tourism in the island and encourage the practice of sports in one of the most privileged locations in the Mediterranean Sea.

The organization have already sponsored this event in five international marathons (London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Venice and Florence), as well as in five large races in Spain (Valencia, Seville, the Valencia half marathons, Santa Pola, Barcelona and the San Silvestre Vallecana).
