This Saturday, April 13, the 7th edition of the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon will be held. A race over 3 distances (marathon, 22K and 12K) that brings together thousands of athletes from all over the world and mobilises a team of more than 500 people, including security forces, technical staff, medical services and volunteers, among others. An extensive system designed to guarantee the development of the race and its safety.

With the aim of minimising the impact of the race on mobility on the island, the organisers have set up a complete public information operation in all the areas through which the event will pass, to raise awareness and inform the island’s residents of the different temporary road closures, as well as the alternative routes to follow in case of need.

The general recommendation is not to use the car on Saturday 13th April between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. in the areas where the races will take place.

Information to the citizen

Since the end of March, the organisers have distributed more than 15,000 information leaflets and posters in the affected areas, as well as in shops and different points of affluence in the municipalities, in order to keep the public prepared for the day of the race.

In addition, the areas of Ibiza, Santa Eulària, Santa Gertrudis and Es Canar, which are key points in the course of the race, have been reinforced with information mailboxes to inform their neighbours.

In addition, the organisers have set up a specific telephone helpline to deal with any doubts about the effects on traffic: 681 25 72 10.

An opportunity to cheer on nearly 5,000 athletes

The organisers are appealing to all those who are not taking part in the scheduled races to take the opportunity to go out into the streets to cheer on the runners.

With nearly 5,000 participants, the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon has become the largest and most international event on the island. A special event that all citizens and visitors will be able to experience first-hand, cheering and applauding the thousands of athletes who enjoy running in the best possible setting: the island of Ibiza.
