Álex Roca, who will compete in the Santa Eulària Ibiza 12K this Saturday, April 1, was present at the charity race in collaboration with APNEEF (Association of People with Special Needs of Ibiza and Formentera).

Roca, 32 years old, became just a few weeks ago the first person to complete a marathon, having a physical disability of 76%.

The barcelona native, who arrived in Ibiza this Friday afternoon, wanted to take the opportunity to share the start of the 300 metre race with the participants.

Before starting the race, the Catalan athlete wanted to speak to all the participants: “I don’t consider myself a world record holder, I consider myself a person who fights for all the people who have difficulties, who are all of us, and I really think that it is very important in life to have dreams to fight for, and today you have one. So I hope you enjoy it and I hope you know that I will always be here to support you so that you can achieve them”.

Afterwards, together with Carmen Ferrer, mayoress of Santa Eulària des Riu, they were in charge of handing out medals to the top finishers and a complete runner’s bag for all participants.
