On Saturday 1st April the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon will take place with the distances that make up the event: marathon, 22K and 12K. This major sporting event involves a huge organisational effort that involves multiple agents and volunteers on the island to ensure it runs smoothly.

In order to minimise the impact of the race on the island’s mobility, the organisers have set up an extensive public information operation in all the areas where the event will pass through, with the aim of raising awareness and informing the island’s residents of the different temporary road closures, as well as the alternative ways to get around in case of need.

The main message being conveyed to the public is the recommendation not to use the car on Saturday 1 April between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. the areas where the races will take place. To this end, 11,000 information leaflets have been distributed in the affected areas, as well as in shops and different points of affluence in the municipalities, in order to keep the public prepared for the day of the race. In addition, the areas of Ibiza, Santa Eulària, Santa Gertrudis and Es Canar, which are key points in the course of the race, have been reinforced with information mailboxes to inform their neighbours.

All of this information is set out on a map of alternative access routes which sets out the guidelines for those who need to travel by car. The organisation has also set up a specific helpline number to deal with any queries that may arise from the public. The number is 681 25 72 10.

A great opportunity to come out and cheer

However, the organisers are inviting the public to take an active part in the event and to take the opportunity to go out into the streets to cheer on the runners. With more than 3,100 runners confirmed for the three distances (marathon, 22K and 12K), the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon has become the largest and most international event on the island. A special event in which the residents of Ibiza, Santa Eulària and the other areas through which the participants pass, will be able to be on the streets cheering and applauding as the tide of runners pass by, who, for one day, will take over the island and enjoy the #RunAndFeel spirit so characteristic of the event. The warmth of the people and the many animations on the streets will surely contribute to making the sixth edition of the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon magical and unforgettable.
