The Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon, in line with its philosophy, has once again committed itself to making running accessible and accessible to the general public. That’s why it has completed its event with the Santa Eulària Ibiza Kids Run CaixaBank, a race for the youngest runners that took place today on the Paseo Marítimo in Santa Eulària des Riu. Future runners were imbued with the #RunAndFeel spirit in a non-competitive event that continues to grow in all aspects. At 10:00 a.m., more than 550 children between 2 and 14 years of age took part in this great sporting event, running different distances according to age and feeling the magical island under their feet, thanks to the collaboration of the bank CaixaBank.

The mayoress of Santa Eulària des Riu, Carmen Ferrer; the director of CaixaBank, Gaelle Le Dour; and the Santa Eulària des Riu sports councillor, Toni Ramón, welcomed hundreds of children with a lot of #RunAndFeel spirit who crossed the finish line of the Santa Eulària Ibiza Kids Run CaixaBank with the dream of one day being able to run the island’s sporting event par excellence.

Registration for this race was free because, according to the organisers, “it is a good way to promote healthy living and the culture of effort in running from an early age, instilling values such as companionship and self-improvement”. In addition, the race, in a non-competitive format, with everyone wearing a number 1 bib, rewarded all participants with a medal and various gifts, as well as providing a refreshment point to which all the children had access when they reached the finish line.

Solidarity race with APNEEF

Just before the Santa Eulària Ibiza Kids Run CaixaBank Santa Eulària, a solidarity race was held in collaboration with APNEEF (Association of People with Special Needs of Eivissa and Formentera), the official charity of the Ibiza event, thus inaugurating the sports day, which was attended by sportsman Álex Roca. At 9:30 a.m. children and teenagers of different ages belonging to the NGO ran the first 300 metres of the Santa Eulària Ibiza 12K, passing through the starting arch and receiving the finisher’s medal from the mayoress of Santa Eulària, Carmen Ferrer; the athlete Álex Roca; the race director, Francisco Larrey; and Carmen Boned, coordinator of APNEEF.

Likewise, all those registered for the sixth edition of the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon have been able to collaborate with the organisation by donating 2€ at the time of registration, in addition to the economic contribution donated by the organisation to help the charity initiatives of this foundation.

The Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon has been inaugurated with these two races that have flooded the streets of Ibiza with sport, excitement and fun for children and young people. The start of the three races that make up the sporting event (marathon, 22K and 12K) will take place in the afternoon on Saturday 1st April.
