We are aware that the footprints we leave are not only from our shoes, it is very important that we all make an effort to ensure the preservation of the island. We must be aware that every action leads to a reaction from the planet and that’s why we at the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon are doing everything we can to do our bit for the event. Ibiza as an ecological destination together with the Sabors initiative promises a green and caring environment, which helps our commitment to the environment.

Sabors Ibiza

From the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon, we also want to give visibility to local and sustainable products. Supporting local commerce is synonymous with quality, good service and sustainability. In addition, it also helps to care for the environment and support the local economy.

That is why we would like to introduce you to Sabor Ibiza. Sabors Ibiza is an initiative that arises from the initiative of the Departments of Agriculture and Tourism Promotion of the Consell Insular de Ibiza together with the sectors grouped in the Pimeef. These associations work with the aim of promoting and distinguishing the traditional food and fish products of the island of Ibiza and promoting Ibiza’s gastronomy as a tourist attraction.

Thus, at the runner’s fair you will find a Sabors Ibiza stand where you can enjoy a tasting of the island’s organic products.

In addition, in the runner’s bag you will find organic almonds so that you can enjoy a small part of all the flavour of Ibiza’s lands.

Ibiza, a World Heritage Site

Few places on the planet have the privilege of enjoying such a flattering title.

Ibiza is one of the few places in Spain to be declared a mixed World Heritage Site, one that combines cultural and natural assets. We can proudly boast that the island has a cultural wealth that our ancestors have bequeathed to us until the present day, together with a privileged natural wealth.

UNESCO declared the acropolis of Dalt Vila (the old town of Eivissa) a World Heritage Site. The old town is surrounded by impressive walls, considered to be the most important defensive monument built in the 16th century, as they were intended to defend the island of Ibiza, a strategic point for the control of the Mediterranean.

It is an honour for us to be able to say that part of the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon route passes through this unique and representative enclave.
